Caring for Your Psylo Clothing

We always recommend checking the label for specific care instructions to keep your garment in top condition.

As general advice, most of our fabrics are natural, hand-dyed, some are hand-knitted, and many are hand-printed using a silkscreen, or have been pre-washed to prevent shrinking. For these reasons, Psylo clothing should be washed in cold water not exceeding 30ºC. Wash the clothes by hand or on a light cycle in the washing machine, but do not tumble dry in hot air. Drying our garments in hot water or washing on the machine's heavy settings might damage the natural fibres. Avoid bleach, detergent or fabric softener containing bleaching agents, as they might cause the fabric or print colours to fade. If you dry your Psylo clothes in direct sunlight, the UV light exposure might also cause fading of fabrics or print colours. So it is recommended to dry in the shade. Our Bamboo-Blend Fabrics

▼Bamboo

100% Bamboo fabric. It is a bio-based fibre made with cellulose by dissolving bamboo pulp. Considered a sustainable crop, as bamboo grows faster than any tree.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade.

◄Bamboo Organic Cotton

70% Bamboo and 30% certified organic Cotton 30s. The silkiness and natural drape of the Bamboo combined with the durability of Cotton.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade.

◄Bamboo Organic Cotton Spandex

65% Bamboo, 25% certified organic Cotton 40s and 10% spandex. A stretchy silky mix that combines the softness quality of Bamboo, with the durability of Cotton and the elasticity of Spandex.

◄Bamboo Terry

92% Bamboo and 8% spandex. This fabric has an external jersey & internal smooth towel finishing.

▼Organic Cotton Jersey

100% Certified organic Cotton with a Slub texture. Thin and lightweight, yet durable.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade.

▼Thin Organic Cotton Lycra

93% Certified organic Cotton 40s and 7% Lycra. A classic mix that gives elasticity and durability to soft Cotton. At Psylo, we mainly use it for tops, dresses and skirts.

▼Thick Organic Cotton Lycra

90% Certified organic Cotton 40s and 10% Lycra. A stretchy mix that gives stronger elasticity and durability to the soft Cotton. We use it at Psylo for leggings.

▼Cotton French Terry

100% Soft Cotton Terry. This thick, heavy, yet soft fabric is an ideal base for crazy details. With an external jersey and internal towelling finishing, it is the fabric we choose for shaped jackets, vests and coats. Garments made in French Terry have clean lines and are usually embellished with studs. The most expensive fabric we offer, but worth the quality as it does not shrink and keeps you warm despite being no synthetic fibre in it.

▼CVC Terry

70% Cotton and 30% Polyester. French Terry fabric with the outside smooth flat and the inside with cross loops.

▼CVC Slub Double Knit

70% Cotton and 30% Polyester. Knitting together as an interlock and with a double layer of internal cotton with external polyester. The intentionally uneven thickness of the yarn gives an irregular texture to the fabric, called “Slub”. We use this fabric mostly in our warm garments: sweaters, gloves, beanies and scarves. The price point and softness make this fabric the absolute best-seller in the Psylo collection.

▼Cotton Canvas

100% Cotton with a plain weaving that we use for items that require sturdiness and longevity. Traditionally made out of Cannabis yarn for use in sails. Today, a highly appreciated fashion fabric.

▼Cotton Twill 16/20s

100% Cotton in Twill weaving with the familiar look of diagonal ribbing on the fabric. Our fabric is a mix of 2 different yarns, the 16s & the 20s.

▼Cotton Twill Stretch (Stretch Cotton 16/20)

93% Cotton (16s mixed with 20s) and 7% Spandex. This combination gives this fabric the strength of Denim and a bit of stretch to hug the body. This fabric is hand-dyed and passes an Enzyme-wash process, to give it a "used" look.

▼Thin Canvas Stretch

90% Cotton 30s and 10% Spandex. A thin Denim-type fabric, with some stretch for a comfortable feeling and to hug the body. This fabric is hand-dyed and passes an ‘Enzyme wash’ process to give it a softer feel.

▼Thin Cotton Pinstripe

100% Cotton dobby with a stamped pinstripe texture.

▼Thin Cotton 60s

100% Sheer woven Cotton.

100% Thick Cotton yarn, hand-knitted with a traditional manual machine.

Care: Hand wash only. Wash by hand, or if using the Hand Wash setting on the machine, insert the garment into a protective bag, or a pillowcase.

 

 

Our Linen-Blend Fabrics

▼Cotton Linen

55% Linen and 45% Cotton. The natural look of the Linen fabric and the strength of the Cotton make it perfect for a pair of Psylo pants with all the pockets and panel work. This fabric is hand-dyed and underwent an ‘Enzyme softening wash’ process to give it a better drip on the body.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade. Do not iron on high heat, use a steamer instead.

 

 

Our Man-Made Fabrics

Our bio-based fibres

▼Rayon

100% Rayon. A bio-based fibre made with cellulose by dissolving wood pulp. This fabric is knitted in twill weave.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade. Do not iron on high heat, use a steamer instead.

▼Rayon French Terry

100% Thin Rayon Terry with an external jersey and internal towelling finish.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach; No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade.

▼Modal

100% Modal. A bio-based fibre made with cellulose from beech trees (modal is essentially a variety of rayon). Our Modal fabric is certified for being sourced from renewable plantations and never from the Indonesian rainforest. Making this material a sustainable choice.

Care: Wash & dry inside-out; Cold Wash or do not exceed 30c; No bleach. No tumble dry in hot air; Dry in the shade.

▼Modal Lycra

90% Modal and 10% elastane. Modal is essentially a variety of rayon, a bio-based fibre made with cellulose from beech trees. Our Modal fabric is certified for being sourced from renewable plantations and never from the Indonesian rainforest. Making this material a sustainable choice. This composition makes for a heavenly soft fabric that is also stretchy.

Our Synthetic Fabrics

▼Hand Knitted Acrylic 1 x ply and 2 x ply

73% Acrylic and 27% Nylon. This fabric is hand-knitted with a traditional manual machine, with one or two threads in each yarn.

Care: Hand wash only. Wash by hand, or if using the Hand Wash setting on the machine, insert the garment into a protective bag, or a pillowcase.

▼Power Net

90% Nylon and 10% Spandex. A tightly woven net, extremely strong and smooth.

▼Stretch Velvet

Synthetic stretch fabric, with a velvet finish outer side, and a smooth & slightly shiny inner side.

Screen-Printing

Care: No bleach - detergent or fabric softener that contains bleaching agents might cause fading of the fabric or print colours. Dry in the shade - if you dry your Psylo clothes in direct sunlight, the UV light exposure might also cause fading of fabrics or print colours.

 

 

Detailing & Finishing

▼Waxed Fabric

In some of our designs, we have introduced Waxed Cotton and/or Tencel. The latter is covered with a mix of pigment and acrylic coating that acts like glue. This PU coating acts as a transparent layer, making the base fabric stain and wear-resistant, and giving it a fresh look. In the menswear and accessories collections, we used a drop of pigment for a tonal textural effect. In the womenswear collection, we used the same dash of shiny silver powder to add femininity and sparkle it up.

▼Up-cycled Tyres And Inner Tube

Our series of vegan accessories are made of upcycled bicycle tyres or bike and car wheels' inner tubes. These materials are not degradable and energy-intensive to recycle. Their strength and durability are superior to leather, which makes them suitable for wristbands, belts and bags. We have also used this heavy-duty material as a trim on our jackets and trousers' pockets. Here you can find out more about up-cycling in Psylo.

▼Leather

100% Leather. Most of the leather we use is Bovine / Cowhide which offers maximum value for texture, appearance, durability, and comfort.

Care: Dry clean.

▼Vegan PU Leather

We use high-quality synthetic leather that withstands machine-washing well.

▼Hand Knitted Cotton Ribbing

100% Cotton yarn hand-knitted in 3x3 rib texture. A thick fabric we use normally in cuffs or pockets or trousers.

Care: Hand wash only. Wash by hand, or if using the Hand Wash setting on the machine, insert the garment into a protective bag, or a pillowcase.

▼Punch Net

82% Polyester and 18% Elastane. A thin, hole-punched stretchy mesh tricot. The holes appear smaller when the fabric is stretched.

▼Stretch Net

A synthetic net fabric which is thin and soft.

▼Steam Net

A synthetic weaved net with square-looking holes. A slight natural stretch makes it easy to move in.

▼Silk Chiffon

100% Pure Silk. This lightweight, sheer and silky fabric looks like a fine net or mesh.

▼Custom-made studs, buckles, rivets, zips, and more

We care about the small details. They are what make the Psylo style stand out. We use the highest-quality detailing, including YKK zippers or custom-made studs, buttons and more. All are nickel free and have an anti-rust coating. Note that some fabrics are heavier and have metal and edgy corners, studs or zippers that can affect the quality of lighter materials and may even damage during washing. Please handle them with care.
